There are many sommeliers in the world, who help diners in fine restaurants choose which wine to pair with their meal. But only a select group achieve the title of master sommelier; as of 2015, fewer than 250 people worldwide have passed the test since it was first administered in 1969. "Uncorked," based on the 2012 documentary "Somm," chronicles six sommeliers who are preparing to take the test -- which requires passing three parts involving theory, service and blind tasting -- to become master sommeliers. Along the way, the candidates attend tasting events around the world and enter competitions, during which they must impress current master sommeliers.
